“The wonderful pool, amongst the finest in Puglia, and beautiful setting ensure its reputation as one of the most exceptional villas in Puglia”.
Villa Santoro sits on a hillside with panoramic views over the olive groves and spectacular countryside that surrounds the hilltop towns of Cisternino and Locorotondo. The construction combines the traditional styles unique to Puglia, with the modern and comfort conscious design of architect design duo Bricchi-Marksteiner. The often awkward and pokey interiors of a traditional trullo have been transformed into a luxurious, airy and comfortable holiday home.
Surrounded by 2 acres of garden and filled with olive trees and fruit trees such as pomegranate, fig, apricot, almond and pear, Villa Santoro provides an incredibly calming setting for even the most assiduous of guests while they relax around, or immerse themselves in, the vast beach pool. Overlooking the pool and leading directly off the kitchen is the external dining area with kitchen and barbeque facilities and impressive marble dining table. After lunch guests can move over to the decadent sofa space nearby, under the shade of the large bamboo and vine covered pergolas.

Villa Santoro has been a favourite for many groups and families for years with regularly returning guests. One of the defining features is the magnificent swimming pool, the sort of pool you don’t find at just any holiday villa. The large rectangular pool is equipped on each side by an extra beach style paddling area, each of a different depth allowing children of all ages to enjoy it. Pop some arm bands on them and watch them splash about for hours! Villa Santoro is for groups that want to spend just as much time round the pool and enjoying their holiday accommodation as exploring the surrounding areas.
As you arrive at the villa you can park your car under the shade of the parking pergola or you can continue up the drive and park directly outside. From here you can enter the living/dining area of the main villa or you can access the ‘lamia’ which is the fourth bedroom suite next to, but detached from, the main villa.
Once inside the main villa and from the reception and living areas you can turn left up two steps where you will find three rooms, two bedrooms of equal size (one with a double bed, the other with two singles) and a large bathroom between them. Otherwise turn right and go down a step into the trullo suite where you will find a large double bedroom with access to the pool area and en-suite bathroom. All bedrooms have private access out to the garden.
Back in the living area you will see the large open plan kitchen dining space with extra-large dining table and three sets of French doors to bring the sunshine inside. From here you have easy access out to the other side of the property where you can enjoy outdoor dining and relaxing. The living and dining areas are divided by one step and a central feature fireplace.
The property is situated along the famous Pugliese aqueduct, over two hundred kilometres of water way which is used in parts to cycle, walk, run and horse ride the spectacular Valle D’Itria. Although the property is not visible from the pathways you may hear passers by chatting from time to time. We strongly urge guests to take an early morning walk to see the beautiful countryside and trulli dotted near and far. Turn immediately right out of the gates onto the road, from there you can choose to take the aqueduct either left (east) or right (west) for as long as you feel like walking, both paths offer beautiful scenery to admire. Otherwise, the best place to enjoy the spectacular Pugliese sunsets is while relaxing under the pergola with a glass of something local.
The property in equipped with fully functional kitchen, including full size dishwasher, American style fridge freezer and coffee making facilities. If you exit the property through the main entrance and turn right you will find the laundry room, and continuing round to the side of the property from here you will find washing lines.
The Valle D’Itria and surrounding areas are easy to navigate however you will require a hire car to get about. The property is located almost equidistant (approx. 60 minutes) between Bari International airport and Brindisi airport. You can fly to one or the other using British Airways, Alitalia, Ryanair and EasyJet among other airlines although they may only fly during peak season.
